Graduation and beyond

About › Graduation and beyondSudbury students get asked regularly how they'll take their next steps after Sudbury. Whether they plan to do more schooling or get a job, it's no surprise that they need to prepare.
Graduating
Some Sudbury schools offer a diploma, some don't. The diploma process is highly individualized, typically requiring the student to persuade a panel that she is ready to take her next step into the world.
University/College Admissions
So many university/college applicants come from nontraditional backgrounds that it's no longer considered unusual. Common ways to get in include:
- Starting part-time, say by taking a course at age 16. Doing well brings permission to move towards full-time study.
- Taking standardized tests.
- Interviewing. Admissions officers commonly report an enthusiasm for applicants who demonstrate a deep interest and investment in a subject.

Getting a Job
Sudbury students move on to any job you can imagine. Studies of this are available from Sudbury Press.
